Directed and written by debutante director Vikramaditya Motwane (who assisted the likes of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Deepa Mehta), UDAAN stars Rajat Barmecha, Ronit Roy, Aayan Boradia, Ram Kapoor with Manjot Singh, Anand Tiwari, Suman Mastkar and Raja Hudda, Varun Khetty, Shaunak Sengupta, Akshay Sachdev.

Produced jointly by Sanjay Singh, Anurag Kashyap, & Ronnie Screwvala, UDAAN is the journey of a teenage boy wanting to break free from his shackles.

UDAAN is an official selection at Cannes, the first Indian film in seven years.

The music of the film is composed by Amit Trivedi while the lyrics are done by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

Synopsis

After being abandoned for eight straight years in boarding school, Rohan returns to the small industrial town of Jamshedpur, and finds himself closeted with an authoritarian father, and a younger half brother who he didn`t even know existed.

Forced to work in his father`s steel factory and study engineering against his wishes, he tries to forge his own life out of his given circumstances and pursue his dream of being a writer.

UDAAN is all to hit the screens on 16th July 2010.
